The NodeJS archive of tarballs is here and for the Pi Zero we want ARM6L version. So we’re going to have to install it manually. The first problem is Plexamp depends on an outdated version of NodeJS 9.11.2, and this version is not available for the Pi Zero in the Debian repository. The horsepower is there to do it.I’ve been a Plex user for a very long while. In any case, running a dedicated LMS on a Pi vs. Load your music on a local USB drive on the server Pi if possible - linking to music files on another network share is not as efficient in my experience.

Might look into more Pi's as dedicated players. Also have an old cell phone for moving around as another player with headphone out. So far my PiCore LMS + player on one Pi to USB DAC works good in my office rig, and I use my old SqueezeBox Touch as a player in another system sync'ed without issues. Installed it on a 3B+ where I swap flash drives out between it and Volumio for testing (Volumio can also run LMS too with a plugin but haven't tried it).

Out of the "box", it works well for just running LMS. The downside is Tiny core Linux Pi Core player may not have all the standard Raspberrian pkgs on if you like to tinker with development, Python etc. Setup is pretty painless with instructions.
